Well, I’m pretty sure American Idol Fans are debating who’s gonna win Season 7. For me it has be David, not Archuleta but Cook. David Cook.
Who do you think will win Tuesday’s performance for the Final Three. Let’s take a look…(as I’ve said My Take)
ROUND ONE: The songs were picked by the judges themselves.
David Archuleta - He sang “And so it goes” chosen by Paula Abdul. Again, he changed the song to my dislike. But I think the song was a good choice for him. His voice was just too perfect. Well, I listened to Billy Joel’s original version and yeah David wasn’t able to give justice. Too bad. I guess an average viewer might have liked his version but for me, it’s nah.
Syesha Mercado - She’s up with my personal fave artist Alicia Keys. She sang “If I ain’t got you” Randy Jackson picked the song. For me, Syesha sounded like Alicia but lacked the emotion I was looking for in that song. Overall, she gave a “performance” but as the judges would say “this was not her best.”
David Cook - He nailed Roberta Flack’s “The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face.” This time, the song was picked by wicked Simon Cowell. The song was rather slow and I admit it was his usual style. But he nailed it. He gave justice. I bet Cook’s fans would download this song.
Yeah, ROUND ONE goes to…. DAVID, not Archuleta but Cook. David Cook.
ROUND TWO: Singer’s Choice
David Archuleta - He stupidly picked Chris Brown’s ‘With You.” And yeah when I say stupidly, he didn’t give a damn. Unfortunately, you guys might agree that diction is not David A’s strong points. I’ve noticed he mumbled and got behind a few words. With his chosen song, I think he just made a Death Wish. Too bad.
Syesha Mercado – She chose “Fever” Well, I must agree she made justice to it. Vamp, that’s the word I’d describe her song choice. She delivered a very straightforward rendition.
David Cook - I’ve read somewhere that he’s gonna pick “The World I Know” from Collective Soul. But he goes with one of my fave songs from Switchfoot “Dare you to move” Oh well, I remember the Mandy Moore’s Only Hope days. Well, I thought he’d never give us a performance after he made some shaky notes on the opening verse. He actually bounced back when the chorus was up. It was not what I expected from David C.
As for ROUND TWO, I’d give it to hmmm… well, it should have been no one but I guess Syesha was just fraction higher than David C.
ROUND THREE: This time it was the producer’s choice.
David Archuleta - He was given Dan Fogelberg’s “Longer.” I found his version unemotional. I was expecting a great performance but it was not what I hoped for.
Syesha Mercado - This time she was up and about on an OST from “Happy Feet” sung by Gia Farrell. Oh great Syesha, that was really great. She went out of tune towards the end. What happened? I can even feel her uncomfort during her performance. It was, again. not what I expected. Clearly she was not her best. She did really lost her shine.
David Cook - He ended the night with Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing.” He was quite good at it but I thought he’d give a blast. Overall, he pushed through. He never lost control of it all and that I believe is a sign of a champion.
ROUND THREE goes to David Cook.
In all, David, not A but C. David Cook took the stage on the Final 3 performance. I was kinda hoping for a very overwhelming performances from the three but it didn’t really happen.
I guess it has to be DAVID vs. DAVID for next week’s finals. One friend told me, if it’s not the two then the show would be forgettable and I agree!
