I am one of the 68.

Monday, October 6, 2008 - just 9 days before I’d turn a year older, I won the Nuffnang 68 Bloggers Contest. After a month of waiting, the official contest winners were announced through their website.

Oh well, I was kinda busy coaching an agent when Debbie sent me a message saying I won the contest. My instinct told me to wrap up the coaching session and check if there’s a pingback on my site but I guess my work ethics were too hard to beat that time so I was only able to check the pingback after almost 45 minutes later. Yay! I couldn’t believe my eyes as my site’s name appeared 3rd on all the 68. I don’t know what that really mean but all the same - I am happy to be one of the select 68 Bloggers!

Way to go Nuffnang… you rock… and I too rock! LOL

Congratulations to ME and to all the 68 Bloggers!

Thank you Nuffnang!

Below’s the complete list of winners.

BatangYagit got me.

The past few weeks have been too much for me at work, blogging and bloghopping seems to be an alien activity to me these days. Although I still make it a point to regularly check my dashboard but I haven’t had any new entries. Oh well, to get this done and over with (as I am writing this entry while waiting for an email reply); this entry is dedicated to a long time blogging friend - Winston of BatangYagit.com.

You see voting for this year’s Blogger’s Choice Award for the Philippine Blog Awards is now officially open. Batangyagit is one of the nominees so he’s got my vote - pretty straightforward huh? Lols.

Going through the list of nominees, I’ve noticed a lot of friends who have been nominated too. But you see Batangyagit had me suicidal convinced to vote for him on the following reasons:

Cebu Bloggers met Ms. Google Philippines.

Friday, August 15, 2008 started a little bit late for me. I woke up almost 10am and I’m running late for an engagement. Oh well, I had to literally eat breakfast and run just to make sure i’ll be on time and yes - I made it to the engagement a good few minutes before the start time. The engagement took an hour to finish which I thought to be over in less than 30 minutes. It was high noon when I finally made it out of the building and my stomach was numb. I had to take a cab to the nearest mall for a well deserved breakfast - uhm, I mean Lunch. Having Breakfast seems to be out of the daily task these few past days. Oh well. Lunch was okay, at least. My phone’s alarm took me by surprise while I was having my monthly dose of rest, relaxation and make-over. The screen popped-up ”Meet-up with Ms. Google Philippines, 5pm” I had to cut short my relaxation because I’ve already confirmed my attendance.

It was still 4pm when I arrived in IT Park so I had to make use of my time by dropping by at the office to check emails. It was almost 5pm when I finally flagged the last unread mail. A few minutes after 5pm I was on my way to The Walk’s Figaro. Familiar faces were huddled outside Figaro and was busy talking to each other. Oh well, there’s Winston, Xerxes, Webslave, Rodel, McBilly, Wil, Miong, Sinjin, Arnold and Empress - I’m not even sure who else was there. lol.

Anyway, it was not until 6pm when Ms. Google Philippines, Aileen Apolo graced the huddle - in the flesh. She brought with her a friend. *wink, wink*.   Oh well, we introduced ourselves, asked a few questions, shared thoughts and insights. It was a casual meet-up, really. And I almost forgot, Aileen  brought Kevin’s award for being one of the Top 10 Most Influential Blogs of 2008.  Soon we were immersed in our little conversations.

The night ended with hearty dinner at Barbeque Joe’s, which the experience is another story.

3rd Cebu Bloggers Meet-up.

ImageShack

Sunday, right after spending almost 9 hours in the office I was in a hurry to take a cab going to Ayala Center Cebu for the 3rd Cebu Bloggers Meet-up. Oh well, as always - I’m late (I should be late, I have a workshift!!). The meet-up should’ve been 2pm as agreed but 3 Travel bloggers (Melo Villareal, Enrico Dee, and Nina Fuentes) will not come until 5pm. It was almost 6pm when finally I’m in Bo’s Coffee Club placing an order for my favorite Oreo Frap. By the time I took a seat, Cebu-based bloggers were already busy engaged in conversation. It was kinda awkward, at first, to finally meet the bloggers behind the blogs.

Oh well, there were bloggers whom I’ve already met during the 1st Cebu Bloggers Meet-up. Anyway, they’ve decided to have dinner together which I opted not to join simply because I’m anti-social, lol, tired.

Below is the list of attendees.

Mandaue Business Month 2008: Cebu Blog Contest

A few hours before I leave Cebu I got this message from The Visayas Bloggers Google Group regarding the launch of a blog contest which we talked about during the First Cebu/Visayas Bloggers Meet-up.

Well, here goes…

Objective: To let a hundred Cebu Blogs bloom.

Mechanics:

1.   The blogger has to create a new blog about Cebu.  Existing blogs with already entries or traffic are not allowed. The blog may be self-hosted, or it maybe in any of the publicly available free sites like Blogger.com, MSN LiveSpaces.com, or Wordpress.com

2.   It should be a new blog which will have a PageRank of 0 in Google, and 0 authority as according to Blog Authority, Technorati.

3.   The blogger should register at the official website: www.ccebu.net/mandaue

4.   Upon approval, he/she should do the following (this will also be provided) :

o    Insert a code that will enable a statcounter, which will count the number of unique visitors and total them.

o    Insert a code that will enable the blog to carry the blogroll of all the other accepted contestants.  That means all official blogs will carry a link to all other Cebu Blog contestants.

o    The blogs may also be asked to carry the logos of the sponsors of the Mandaue Business Month.

o    Other than the above, the Cebu blogs are free to add whatever widgets, advertisements, or add-ons that they feel will add to the value of the blog or to their own income.  However, please do note that a blog with overwhelming clutter may earn less points in the theme and overall aesthetics category.

blog at work 3

Work seems to be getting ahead of me lately. It has been a struggle for me to keep up with a lot of deliverables at work, not to mention my “pasaway” reps. But I know everything’s still okay. Well, after a few weeks of me being tested on troubled waters I am now moved to the early graveyard shift. It has been almost 2 months that I’m on the morning shift and this come Tuesday I’ll be on the 5pm shift with a new team. I guess I’d be comfortable with my new team because they were my teammates.

Anyway, it has been exactly 2 weeks today that I quit smoking and I’m so proud with the progress I’ve made. Lol. I just hope I’ll get through this long enough that sooner I’ll despise cigarettes. Hehehe….

I’m kinda busy right now… so let me just share an image sent by one my coleagues. I’m sure this image is kinda old for some but this really made me laugh my heart out…

American Idol Winners: My take

Well, I’m pretty sure American Idol Fans are debating who’s gonna win Season 7. For me it has be David, not Archuleta but Cook. David Cook.

Who do you think will win Tuesday’s performance for the Final Three. Let’s take a look…(as I’ve said My Take)

ROUND ONE: The songs were picked by the judges themselves.

David Archuleta - He sang “And so it goes” chosen by Paula Abdul. Again, he changed the song to my dislike. But I think the song was a good choice for him. His voice was just too perfect. Well, I listened to Billy Joel’s original version and yeah David wasn’t able to give justice. Too bad. I guess an average viewer might have liked his version but for me, it’s nah.

Syesha Mercado - She’s up with my personal fave artist Alicia Keys. She sang “If I ain’t got you” Randy Jackson picked the song. For me, Syesha sounded like Alicia but lacked the emotion I was looking for in that song. Overall, she gave a “performance” but as the judges would say “this was not her best.”

David Cook - He nailed Roberta Flack’s “The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face.” This time, the song was picked by wicked Simon Cowell. The song was rather slow and I admit it was his usual style. But he nailed it. He gave justice. I bet Cook’s fans would download this song.

Yeah, ROUND ONE goes to…. DAVID, not Archuleta but Cook. David Cook.
