3rd Cebu Bloggers Meet-up.

ImageShack

Sunday, right after spending almost 9 hours in the office I was in a hurry to take a cab going to Ayala Center Cebu for the 3rd Cebu Bloggers Meet-up. Oh well, as always - I’m late (I should be late, I have a workshift!!). The meet-up should’ve been 2pm as agreed but 3 Travel bloggers (Melo Villareal, Enrico Dee, and Nina Fuentes) will not come until 5pm. It was almost 6pm when finally I’m in Bo’s Coffee Club placing an order for my favorite Oreo Frap. By the time I took a seat, Cebu-based bloggers were already busy engaged in conversation. It was kinda awkward, at first, to finally meet the bloggers behind the blogs.

Oh well, there were bloggers whom I’ve already met during the 1st Cebu Bloggers Meet-up. Anyway, they’ve decided to have dinner together which I opted not to join simply because I’m anti-social, lol, tired.

Below is the list of attendees.

Cebu Bloggers Meet-up Today!

A few hours from this writing the Cebu Bloggers will have a meet-up, again, in Bo’s Coffee Club, Ayala Center Cebu. As of writing no word yet on what’s gonna be the agenda for the 2pm meet-up. However, on the 5pm shift it’s gonna be a meet-up with some Travel Bloggers. Oh well, I’m gonna be missing this meet-up again - the 2pm, that is. Anyway, I’ll be online today to check for updates. So, to all Cebu Bloggers you guys enjoy each other’s company and see you on the 5pm meet-up.

Cheers!

Cebu and Visayas Bloggers Meets Gov. Gwen Garcia

I’ve just received word from the Visayas Bloggers Google Group that there’ll be conference with Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia this July 14, 2008 at Cebu City Sports Club at 11am. Wilson Ng is inviting 15 bloggers to join the press conference. The press conference is to highlight Cebu and Visayas bloggers and it is also a chance to meet and greet the Governor. The press conference is in relation to the Mandaue Business Month to be held in Cebu International Convention Center this August.

So, calling all Visayas/Cebu based bloggers to please let our voices be heard!

So sad because I’m not able to join… -sigh-

Anyway, leave me comment if you’re interested to join the event. Cheers to us all.

Update: The Press Conference has been moved the following day, July 15, 2008, same time (11am).

Cebu Blogger’s Meet-up.

This blog is getting dormant and I know that. Well, I guess I have to reconnect with my blogging life.  So this goes….

I was waiting for a cab in Escario St. when a friend patted my back saying a guy who just recently passed was a blogger. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. I didn’t really mind at all. Well, curiosity was bugging me so I sent a text message to a blogger from Davao who’s now in Cebu for his -ehem- ECE Review. He confirmed. It was Winston of BatangYagit.

That was a few weeks ago. Then just recently I commented into one of his blog entries and there he told me that he’ll be organizing a Cebu Blogger Meet-up. And guess who else will be coming-in from davao? Blogie of angdabawenyo.com …. The meet-up will be this coming June 29 at Bo’s Coffee Club, Osmeña Blvd, 2pm.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the event. I’ll be in  boracay that time. Too bad for me. :(

So, to all Cebu-based bloggers. See yah on June 29, 2pm at Bo’s Coffee Club, Osmeña Blvd.

American Idol Winners: My take

Well, I’m pretty sure American Idol Fans are debating who’s gonna win Season 7. For me it has be David, not Archuleta but Cook. David Cook.

Who do you think will win Tuesday’s performance for the Final Three. Let’s take a look…(as I’ve said My Take)

ROUND ONE: The songs were picked by the judges themselves.

David Archuleta - He sang “And so it goes” chosen by Paula Abdul. Again, he changed the song to my dislike. But I think the song was a good choice for him. His voice was just too perfect. Well, I listened to Billy Joel’s original version and yeah David wasn’t able to give justice. Too bad. I guess an average viewer might have liked his version but for me, it’s nah.

Syesha Mercado - She’s up with my personal fave artist Alicia Keys. She sang “If I ain’t got you” Randy Jackson picked the song. For me, Syesha sounded like Alicia but lacked the emotion I was looking for in that song. Overall, she gave a “performance” but as the judges would say “this was not her best.”

David Cook - He nailed Roberta Flack’s “The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face.” This time, the song was picked by wicked Simon Cowell. The song was rather slow and I admit it was his usual style. But he nailed it. He gave justice. I bet Cook’s fans would download this song.

Yeah, ROUND ONE goes to…. DAVID, not Archuleta but Cook. David Cook.

WordCamp Philippines: It’s here.

It seems that I’m being left behind on what’s happening in the blogosphere. Although I’m with twitter all the time, still I’m pretty late.  Well, I guess I need to make my schedule a little bit more flexible this time. I hopped into Migs and Blogie’s Blogs, I was kinda shocked when both their entries got the WordCamp Logo and yeah with Philippines on it. Could it be? Philippines’ very own WordCamp?

Well, YEAH… it is here.

WordCamp Philippines 2008 is here.

Check the Official Site at http://philippines.wordcamp.org/

I just hope I can free up my schedules so I can join this. **crossing fingers**

Excerpt: Mark your calendar for 2008’s sky shows

 Total Lunar Eclipse
Marco Ugarte / AP file

The moon is seen taking different orange tones during a lunar eclipse over Mexico City on Aug. 28, 2007.

By : Joe Rao,  skywatching columnist

Mark Wednesday, Feb. 20, on your calendar as “Lunar Eclipse Night,” for if the weather is fair you should have no difficulty observing a total eclipse of the moon.

The eclipse will be visible wherever the moon is above the horizon during the time frame that the eclipse is taking place. As it turns out, North and South America will be turned toward the moon and will be in excellent position for this sky show.

Europe, Africa and a part of western Asia will also be able to see the eclipse, although for these regions the event will take place in the hours just before sunrise on the morning of Feb. 21.

All told, given clear skies, about three billion potential eclipse viewers will be able to partake in the spectacle of the full moon becoming completely immersed in the Earth’s shadow.

This will be the third total lunar eclipse within the past year. The previous two favored different parts of North America, but this one will be readily visible from start-to-finish across much of the continent, weather permitting.

The total phase will last 51 minutes and begins at 10:01 p.m. ET.

Because some of the sunlight striking the Earth is diffused and scattered by our atmosphere, the Earth’s shadow is not completely dark. Typically there are coppery red and orange hues cast over the moon at and near totality from sunlight refracted from our atmosphere around the edge of the Earth, giving the moon the appearance of an eerie glowing ball.

This year’s astronomical calendar features not just one, but two pairings of the sky’s brightest planets - plus a total solar eclipse visible from exotic locations, and a total lunar eclipse that most Americans will be able to see from their backyards.
There’s also a good selection of star cluster occultations, and a promising opportunity to catch August’s annual Perseid meteor shower.

Here are some of the more noteworthy sky events of the year. Space.com’s Night Sky column will provide more extensive coverage of each event as it draws closer.
