Cebu Blog Camp is an event that focuses on honing the skills of bloggers offline. This event will gather a large number of bloggers all over Cebu to discuss the latest developments on the Web, Search engines, and making money online.

Cebu Blog Camp also aims to help those just beginning in their blog journey by giving them the  basics of blogging. Our Blog Camp will comprise of prominent speakers of the different fields of blogging.

Through this event one can gain a learning experience on the different opportunities online.  Apart from the discussions, one may be able to form a concrete network offline as one can finally meet the other bloggers of the community in Cebu.

Time.com | Typhoon Ondoy

The weekend was severely disastrous, literally. I never thought that I’d weep in front of my laptop reading tweets and facebook statuses from friends in the Manila area. Watching the news was also devastating as the rain continued to pour and washed the metropolis with its thick brown water. I was literally up all night reading the tweets and contacting friends in Manila asking if they’re okay. It was not easy for everyone, seriously.

Despite the devastation carried by Tropical Storm Ondoy (Internation Name: Ketsana), I’ve seen the Filipinos’ unity to  help others both offline and online. Photos and Videos were posted online showing Filipinos braving the Flood and helping each other. Some even described the events via their Social Networking accounts (Strange as it may seem some still have internet access). It was disheartening seeing how the events unfold right before your very eyes.

Moving forward, let’s all do a little share and help all the victims of this tragedy. A little help goes a long way.

In Cebu below are the drop-off points for your donations. Let’s all prioritize those that are non-perishable.

MY TAKE: Like any other food chain Orange Brutus offers good food. I just knew that they do not pre-cook their food, which explains why it takes a while for your food to be served. That didn’t really occur to me before. The Budget Meals are perfect for the budget-conscious (like me); it already comes with a free iced tea or a softdrink whichever suits you. I’ve had the chance to eat their Chicken Steak (B2 Meal) and it was not was not what I was expecting. You see, I love chicken and it has to be tender and juicy enough and Orange Brutus’ Chicken Steak met my expectation, if not exceeded my expectation, – it was awesome! Their Quarter Meal, the Beef Teriyaki was fine though I am not a fan of beef products. Its taste was unique enough but I guess beef-lovers should be the one to judge that. The fruit shake (I had the Mango Shake, by the way) was great too and I tasted real mango unlike other fruit shakes available. And who could forget the Chocolate Monster? The cake was splendid for someone who doesn’t like chocolates. Well, I’m just hoping everything will be consistent on all Orange Brutus Outlets. We’ll soon enough.

Oh well, I was kinda busy coaching an agent when Debbie sent me a message saying I won the contest. You see voting for this year’s Blogger’s Choice Award for the Philippine Blog Awards is now officially open. Batangyagit is one of the nominees so he’s got my vote – pretty straightforward huh? Lols.

Going through the list of nominees, I’ve noticed a lot of friends who have been nominated too. But you see Batangyagit had me suicidal convinced to vote for him on the following reasons:

1. BatangYagit is his alter-ego; like Batman and Bruce Wayne. Oh well, we had a little chat yesterday and he shared me a little bit of his life. Hmph. You see, when he was a kid he was never allowed to out of the house – in short, he never had any Street Life. Poor kid. Lol.
2. BatangYagit maintains a lot of sites/blogs. Which I do not really know how the hell he manages his time between studies and his online life. Tsk tsk.
3. BatangYagit almost made it to the 2008 Google Summer of Code. *sigh*
4. BatangYagit is a driving force. He helped Cebu-based bloggers convene for the first time.
5. BatangYagit is a certified Dabawenyo. He even got himself a little controversy when blogged about Cebu. Haha!

Well, these are just few lame reasons why he got my vote for this year’s Bloggers’ Choice Awards. Yeah, Winston’s a friend and he’s gonna kill me if I’m not voting for the Batangyagit. Haha!

I guess this is enough. I just got the email reply I’m waiting for.

Jump High….

This photo was taken by Oslec almost a year ago in Tabuelan, Cebu and I forgot the name of the beach resort. haha!

It was still 4pm when I arrived in IT Park so I had to make use of my time by dropping by at the office to check emails. It was almost 5pm when I finally flagged the last unread mail. A few minutes after 5pm I was on my way to The Walk’s Figaro. Familiar faces were huddled outside Figaro and was busy talking to each other. Oh well, there’s Winston, Xerxes, Webslave, Rodel, McBilly, Wil, Miong, Sinjin, Arnold and Empress – I’m not even sure who else was there. lol.

Anyway, it was not until 6pm when Ms. Google Philippines, Aileen Apolo graced the huddle - in the flesh. She brought with her a friend. *wink, wink*.   Oh well, we introduced ourselves, asked a few questions, shared thoughts and insights. It was a casual meet-up, really. And I almost forgot, Aileen  brought Kevin‘s award for being one of the Top 10 Most Influential Blogs of 2008.  Soon we were immersed in our little conversations.

The night ended with hearty dinner at Barbeque Joe’s, which the experience is another story.
